NOW THAT I’VE FINISHED MY BOOK REVIEW of Felder Rushing’s soon to be published book called Slow Gardening, I’m going to give away (including delivery) the pre-publication copy of the book to a lucky Suburban Hobby Farmer reader.
If you are not familiar with Rushing, he’s the author of nearly 20 gardening books and host of The Gestalt Gardener radio program on Mississippi Public Broadcasting Network. More than that, Rushing is famous for his quirky comments and offbeat garden art. In Slow Gardening, he takes you through his recipe for gardening happiness, which combines basic gardening principles and a don’t-worry-be-happy attitude.
Slow Gardening will be available in the stores in July, but you have a chance to win my pre-publication copy by commenting below. All you have to do is list your favorite homegrown fruit or vegetable in the comment section and you will be entered to win. I’ll pick one person at random to get the book completely for free. I’ll announce the winner (and directions for receiving the book) on June 28, 2011 in the comment section below.
So don’t wait. All you have to do is list your favorite fruit or vegetable below. Your chance of winning is very good.

So hard to choose just one – can I say salsa? I guess tomatoes, followed by strawberries and raspberries. Thanks for the contest!
Ginny — I’ll take salsa. Good idea getting more than one vegetable in one entry.
Has to be Jerusalem Artichokes-best veg ever!!

I agree it is hard to pick just one. How about something that’s hard to find in stores, like ground cherries… oh but I do get pretty excited about those tomatoes.
